Lachlan Snow
Lachlan is an experienced community music maker.
Having conducted a range of choirs, orchestras and bands in Brisbane, Canberra and Newcastle, Lachlan believes that striving for musical excellence should be enjoyable and rewarding for all involved!
'Newie' holds a special place in his heart having been the Newcastle staff liaison during his time at Musica Viva and as the conductor of the Barbarians Orchestra 2019 season.
Conductor and Strings Tutor
Rachel Pogson
Originally from Orange in rural NSW, Rachel is a freelance conductor, cellist and string specialist with a particular interest in ensemble pedagogy.
In 2013, as Artistic Director of NIMA (Newcastle Improvised Music Association) Rachel helped to establish the Newcastle Youth Orchestra. She also teaches cello and chamber music at the Sydney Conservatorium High School, runs workshops for primary and secondary string orchestras throughout greater Sydney, and maintains a wonderful studio of private cello students at Newtown Performing Arts High.
Percussion Tutor
Tim Evans
Tim Evans has been playing, performing, sharing and teaching music for over 3 decades. Tim’s passion for music has taken them all over the world exploring many musical styles and cultures and performing with touring artists.
Tim is based in Newcastle where you can find them working with local original music ensembles, teaching percussion and operating an independent all-ages music and arts hub called Theydy’s.
