Who Are We?
Newcastle Youth Orchestra Incorporated (NYO/NWO) is a not-for-profit organisation. Our ensembles (Newcastle Youth Orchestra, Newcastle Wind Orchestra, Newcastle Youth Chamber Orchestra, and Newcastle Youth Orchestra for Kids) in the Hunter Region provide ensemble experience for performers of all ages. Newcastle Youth Orchestra Inc. aims to motivate young people through a diverse and challenging repertoire of orchestral music. We provide the highest quality music education and training in a stimulating and rewarding environment.
NYO has been operational since 2013, and has successfully supported a seasonal program since our inception, as well as growing membership, recognition and support in the Hunter region. Newcastle Youth Orchestra Inc. supports various ensembles- NYO, NWO, NYO Chamber Orchestra, and NYO for Kids. We also participate in a number of community education and engagement initiatives.

NYO contributes to and enhances the vibrant cultural life of the city of Newcastle, by maintaining existing and developing new audiences to engage with classical music. NYO is proud of the community connections they have developed and is committed to continuing to provide opportunities for the people of the Hunter region to enjoy orchestral music.

Scholarships: to provide talented individuals within the ensembles with education opportunities within NYO/NWO, who may not have otherwise been in a position to afford to participate.

Touring: Newcastle Youth Orchestra and Newcastle Wind Orchestra are committed to presenting concerts throughout Australia and aim to continue to grow their touring program over the next five years.

Education and programming: NYO/ NWO aims to provide students with opportunities to engage with musicians and educators of the highest calibre, while providing opportunities to perform and engage with the community. Your support with enable us to continue to build and develop this program.
