Newcastle Youth Sinfonia
The NYS welcomes young musicians usually from age 12 up to 18 at an early stage of their orchestral ensemble journey.
Designed primarily for players starting at AMEB Grade 3-4 level or equivalent, this ensemble provides a supportive and engaging environment where students develop essential ensemble skills, musical confidence, and friendships.
Under expert guidance, members experience the excitement of orchestral performance while building a strong foundation in teamwork and music-making.
Newcastle Youth Orchestra
Our flagship ensemble, the NYO, brings together accomplished young musicians aged 16-25 who are performing at AMEB Grade 5-6 level or equivalent.
NYO offers an enriching platform for talented players to tackle more challenging repertoire, refine their orchestral skills, and perform at a higher artistic level. Members experience a depth of orchestral music-making while connecting with equally passionate peers.
This ensemble provides an ideal stepping stone for those considering further musical studies or who just love orchestral performance in their lives.
